Described as the “weird but genius” lens, the Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens (Cine) PL is a truly unique lens designed for close-up shots.
This is the world's first consumer macro lens made in the format of the probe. The novelty offers a new perspective and removes the obstacles that exist when using conventional macro lenses.
First of all, the Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens (Cine) PL lens is wide-angle and shows a wider perspective than conventional macro photography optics. The viewing angle is 85° at a maximum magnification of 2:1. This means that the lens can be very close to the subject and show the space around it. Using this lens, you can show more details and textures, in contrast to the usual macro lenses, in which only a small part of the object remains sharp.
A much greater depth of field is provided by the optical design. When you need to show more details on the background, then using the classic macro lens when shooting small objects will not work - the entire image behind the object will be blurred. In the Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens (Cine) PL lens, this problem is solved, which is a great advantage when you need to show the environment in the photo.
The front of the Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens (Cine) PL lens is waterproof so you can take “underwater” shots. Photographing fluids will now be much easier - no additional protection is needed. The same applies to shooting from scenes with a large number of fine substances.
Thanks to the 40-centimeter length of the lens, photographers can get very close to the subject, while still remaining far enough away. Thus, shooting small fearful animals becomes much easier and reduces the risk when working with dangerous and poisonous reptiles.
The small main diameter of the lens of 2 cm allows you to shoot from an ultra-low point, capturing a large amount of surface to show a beautiful perspective for maximum exposure. Spectators will simply "walk" on the surface. Also, the small size of the lens allows you to penetrate it into the most hidden corners and not block the light with your body.
At the end of the lens are LED lamps that are powered from a separate source using a conventional MicroUSB. With this light, it will be very easy to provide additional lighting.
The new lens has a small weight of 474 grams, so it can be easily transported and conveniently used with almost any camera.
