Ultra-bright Atomos Ninja Flame 7'' display with increased detail
Modern monitors force filmmakers to make compromises due to insufficient brightness and narrow dynamic range. They have to vary the exposure to see the details in the bright areas of the image, losing the details in the shadows, and vice versa. Or shoot in the Log space and watch only a flat, faded image on the display. The solution to these problems is the Atomos Ninja Flame 7″ on-camera monitor with a display brightness of 1500 nits and AtomHDR display mode, which allows you to record 4K/HD video footage in 10-bit ProRes and DNx codecs from the HDMI input. Thanks to AtomHDR technology, the display of this monitor/recorder has enough brightness and dynamic range to display every detail of the HDR Log image. Naturalness and richness of colors guaranteed at any level of brightness.
Blow fog off LOG space
The Log color spaces (S-Log2, S-Log3, C-Log, V-Log, etc.) make it possible to remove maximum information from the camera sensor during recording, but they look faded on monitors, which makes it difficult to estimate the exposure. As a compromise, film crews resort to the use of LUT, which allow you to get an “approximate” picture, but you have to sacrifice the detail. They also have to use calibration cards, oscillograms and certain “golden rules” in order to set the correct exposure. AtomHDR is a solution that allows you to display a wide dynamic range of Log spaces with a brightness level that is convenient in certain light conditions.
1500 nits monitor
Not all scenes require recording in HDR Log space. Where there is no need for a dynamic range of 10 exposure steps, you can use the Atomos Ninja Flame's 1500-nit panel brightness to monitor a traditional video signal with a standard dynamic range (SDR/Rec709) when shooting under bright sunshine.
Simply select the appropriate mode — HDR or High Bright SDR — and proceed to setting up your scene on a 7-inch premium-quality display with 10-bit signal processing quality, 1920 × 1200 resolution, 325 ppi pixel density and optional ability to calibrate the natural color shift on LCD displays. Moreover, Atomos Ninja Flame has integrated tools that allow you to accurately expose the scene to any shooting conditions.
Simple OS for complex shooting
The Atomos Flame monitor recorder series is distinguished by an expanded and convenient set of image control tools, including waveforms, which will be available to the operator in any situation with one click. The operating system of the device includes tools for focusing, framing and exposure (focus illumination, image magnification 2: 1/1: 1, zebra, false colors, safe area, brightness and RGB histogram, vectorscope), as well as flexible possibilities of work with 3D LUT (when using integrated LUT or loaded in .cube format) and optional decompression of anamorphic material.
CONTINUOUS POWER system with super fast charging
The patented Continuous Power Continuous Power System, which was first introduced in Atomos HD products, now also appeared in the 4K solutions line. The system consists of two batteries with hot-swappable. At the end of the charge in one battery, the device instantly switches to the second one. The combination of ultra-fast charging and two 4-cell batteries (both included in the kit) ensures that there are no problems with the power supply of your Atomos Ninja Flame monitor/recorder.
Advanced sound monitoring for DSLR cameras
You can record external sound to Atomos Ninja Flame simultaneously with the video signal, visually controlling up to 8 channels of HDMI sound or 2 analog channels. Each audio channel has a separate peak meter, precise synchronization with the video sequence (with the possibility of introducing a frame delay), gain control and setting the level of the microphone signal when using external microphones (3.5 mm unbalanced inputs).
Advanced recording capabilities
In addition to recording in 10-bit 4: 2: 2 ProRes / DNx formats, the Atomos Ninja Flame has some functionality that you cannot find in any other recorder. For example, starting and stopping recording on a trigger signal from the HDMI output of certain cameras Canon, Sony, Panasonic and Nikon. Convert an interlaced video signal from your camera to a progressive format on the fly using 3: 2 or 2: 2 pulldown operation. And functions such as Pre-roll (a cache of several seconds of material before pressing the Start button) and Time lapse will expand your creative possibilities to new limits.
