The Rode Lavalier stainless steel electret microphone is protected by a foam rubber waterproof pop filter and a fur head. The device is attached to clothes with a neat clip, and a detachable shielded cable 1.2 m long provides compact carrying in a complete plastic case and a guarantee of operation without interference. The cable is equipped with a proprietary MiCon connector, which involves connecting any adapter (one is optional in the kit, the rest can be purchased). This means that the microphone can be connected to any devices, including mixing consoles, and wireless systems.
With a -34dB sensitivity, Lavalier records clear sound with low noise. It perfectly copes with quiet or, conversely, very loud sources, therefore it is successfully used where high sound quality and compactness are needed - on stage, in a television studio, large-scale outdoor events.
Rode Lavalier is definitely commendable. It is universal, well protected, ergonomic and definitely knows how to work with sound.
