Versatility
The range of focal lengths of 24-70 mm, which is covered by a universal zoom lens, allows you to shoot all everyday scenes without the need for changing optics. If you want - shoot architecture at the minimum focal length, and you want - portraits at the long end and all this can be done on the most open aperture (f / 2.8), the value of which does not change when zooming.
Heavy artillery
The lens is most suited to the epithet “heavy artillery”: despite its enormous dimensions and heavy weight (about 900 g), it “shoots” very quickly and accurately. The merit of this is laid on the shoulders of an ultrasonic focusing drive that catches the subject for 0.2 s with any quality of lighting. You can force autofocus to be turned off for manual focusing using the “AF/MF” switch on the lens body.

The drawbacks in terms of rendering the image of the lens simply do not. It’s enough to mention that it provides such a high level of detail that you want to consider small details in the picture for hours. And in terms of quality and beauty, the bokeh of the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM is easy to confuse with some portrait lens.
When zooming in on the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM, a small “trunk” grows (up to 3 cm in the teleposition).
