The Soundcraft EMP12 mixing console is made in a compact package and has an updated design. Compactness is ensured by the use of new 60 mm faders, which are more accurate, reliable and well-proven in other series of mixing consoles.
The console has 12 mono channels, each of which is equipped with an XLR microphone input, a linear 1/4 ″ jack input, a 1/4 ″ jack INSERT input and a level control (from +5 dB to +60 dB).
2 stereo channels for connecting 3-pole 1/4 ″ jack connectors. Stereo channels are used to connect keyboards, drum machines, synthesizers, cassette devices or signal processing devices. These inputs are balanced and maintain a high quality signal. With a special wiring of 1/4 ″ jack connectors, it is allowed to use an unbalanced signal, and the cable length should be minimal.
The built-in equalizer has the ability to fine-tune the sound by changing the sound frequencies and allows you to achieve better speech intelligibility in concert programs.
For mono channels there is a 3-band equalizer with the ability to change frequencies in the middle, low and high range. In the middle frequency range, resolution is allowed from 150 to 3500 Hz.
There are also Aux Sends external effects level controls, which are used to set individual mixes for the FOLDBACK, EFFECTS or recordings, the PAN pan control, which sets the level of a signal on a specific channel (left or right channel), the PFL button responsible for listening in headphones, the button MUTE, responsible for turning off the signal on the channel and the overall volume control of the channel.
Like mono channels, stereo channels also have a high-precision 2-band equalizer with frequency control knobs, send handles to an external processor effector, balance control, PFL, MUTE buttons and a common volume control.
The master section is equipped with general volume control knobs, power availability indicator, PFL indicator, which shows that one of the channels has headset listening, 10 segment signal level indicator, 2 TRACK and AUX MASTER position selection buttons, monitor and headphone volume controls .
Also this section has a dedicated phantom power button for connecting condenser microphones, 1/4 ″ jack headphone input, RCA 2 TRACK input and RCA AUT RECORD, 2 x 1/4 ″ INSERT jack, 2 x XLR active acoustic output , 2 x 1/4 ″ jack of the monitor output and 2 x AUX outputs for the ability to connect external effects processors.
The console is made in a strong metal case and can be installed on a flat horizontal surface (table or the like). It is also possible to install in a 19 ″ rack or cabinet (using a special mount that is not included in the package).
