The Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM is a high-quality, high-aperture wide-angle lens. Due to the very wide relative aperture (1: 1.4) it allows you to shoot with hands in low light conditions, as well as use a shallow depth of field (which is usually not available at ultra-wide focal lengths). Aspherical lenses and ultra-low dispersion elements provide excellent correction of chromatic aberrations. Linear distortions are at a very low level (1-1.3%). The highest resolution is achieved in the range f/4 - f/8, the sharpness in the center - starting with a fully open aperture. The lens has protection against dust and moisture (was absent in the first version), an annular USM focusing motor and a multi-layer antireflection coating of all elements.
