The 29-120mm T2.9 Takumi 2 is the third cinema lens from the distinguished Japanese optical manufacturer Musashi Optical. From its inception the lens was designed for full frame and large format cinema camera capable of 8K recording. The Takumi 2 features natural renditions, soft and subtle controlled flare, and excellent sharpness. The zoom has no ramping and the breathing is so well controlled that subtle & natural have been used to describe it repeatedly.
The Takumi 2 has an integrated back focus adjustment for fast set-up and quick fine tuning in the field. The lens is for full frame and large format sensor cameras with an industry standard PL mount. The bright T/2.9 aperture is maintained throughout the zoom lens for consistent exposure while zooming and for a shallow depth of field.
Given the wide 4.1x zoom range and fast constant T/2.9 value the Takumi 2 can take the place of several prime or shorter zoom lenses making it an exceptional value in a dedicated cinema lens. The Takumi 2 has a 9-bladed iris with rounded blades that renders smooth transition from focus to out of focus areas and soft feathered bokeh.
