Sound equipment is the devices thanks to which professionals record, process, amplify, transmit and reproduce an audio signal. Sound equipment is not synonymous with sound engineering.
We have presented: recorders, walkie-talkies, intercoms, microphones (including radio microphones, headsets, lavalier microphones, radio loops), headphones, adapters, mixing consoles, microphone stands, megaphones, firecrackers, radio systems.
Sound recording, or sound recording, is the process of converting acoustic vibrations into an electrical signal. Today the equipment allows converting sound into a sequence of numbers, a bit sequence (digital sound). Sound recording can be mono, stereo and quadraphonic.
Types of sound recording:
- Analog sound recording: mechanical, electromechanical, optical, magnetic.
- Digital sound recording (bit set): magnetic digital, magneto-optical, laser, optical digital.
Digital audio formats. Files are saved on media in audio formats:
- Sheet music - MIDI
- Digitized sound: OGG, MP3, WAV, etc.
