Zhiyun Smooth 4 - electronic three-axis stabilizer for mobile phones. Smooth 4 has a professional functionality for shooting video with complex cinematic techniques, such as, for example, “dolly zoom”, “hyperlapses”, “time-lapse with focus shift” and so on.
A unique feature of this stabilizer is the zoom pull and manual focus (Zoom Pull & Zoom) dial. This opens up access to such videography capabilities as a smooth transfer of focus from one plan to another, hitting and leaving the camera (digital zoom), as well as such effects as “dolly zoom” or “vertigo effect” (after the name of the A. Hitchcock film “Vertigo "Where it was first applied). The last effect can be performed both completely manually and in semi-automatic mode, which is configured through the menu of the ZY Play application.
The new PhoneGo mode speeds up the stabilizer, making it much more responsive for sudden movements, which can be useful in action scenes, as well as for switching between frames.
The object tracking function allows you to keep it in the frame with active movement. This function works through the ZY Play application, for experienced users it has long been familiar, but the manufacturer promises increased tracking efficiency.
Separately, it is worth mentioning a variety of options for interval shooting (time-lapse): fixed time-lapse, time-lapse with camera rotation (panning), time-lapse with camera movement in space (including fixation on a specific object or tilted horizontally), hyper-drops (night timelapse with motion and long exposure), time-lapse with focus shifting.
A large number of controls on the case provides quick direct access to most of the important settings of the stabilizer and camera of the phone. I must say that Smooth 4 is generally oriented to an experienced user who needs access to manual control of camera parameters and a stabilizer.
